Frozen Crypto Account and Suspended Withdrawal Support

How we can help

P&P assists individuals and businesses whose crypto accounts, funds or withdrawals have been restricted by exchanges and custodial platforms. We assess the restriction, prepare evidence and a legal position, support communication with the platform and pursue appropriate complaint or escalation routes.

  • Account and withdrawal restriction review
  • Source of Funds and Source of Wealth documentation
  • Formal complaints and compliance responses
  • Cross-border legal escalation

When You May Need This Service

You may still see your balance and access your account while being unable to move your assets. Our work starts with the notice, the functions affected and the steps you have already taken.

Your situation What it may involve and how we help
Your account is frozen or access is restricted The notice may concern security, verification or legal requirements. We assess the available explanation and response options.
Withdrawals are disabled while trading remains available The limitation may affect a specific function. We identify what is restricted and prepare a targeted request.
The platform requests Source of Funds or Source of Wealth evidence The review may concern a transaction or your wider financial background. We organise the relevant records.
A deposit or transfer is under AML or enhanced due diligence review The platform may need a documented transaction history. We connect payment records, transfers and their economic purpose.
Restrictions follow a third-party payment or P2P trade The relationship with the sender may need explanation. We review orders, receipts and supporting agreements.
Documents are requested repeatedly without a substantive decision Earlier responses may leave questions unanswered. We review the file and assess whether a complaint is appropriate.
You receive an account closure notice with assets remaining A permitted withdrawal route may need clarification. We review the notice and prepare the relevant request.

Temporary maintenance, a stated security waiting period or a routine technical issue may not require paid legal work. We assess whether our involvement is proportionate before proposing a scope.

What Is Included in the Service

The work is tailored to the restriction and the available evidence. Each agreed stage produces a specific document, assessment or next-step recommendation.

Service What P&P does What you receive
Case assessment Reviews notices, support history, the platform and chronology A preliminary assessment and recommended route
Evidence review Checks financial and transaction records for gaps or inconsistencies An evidence checklist and document priorities
Source of Funds and Wealth file Organises records explaining the funds and relevant financial background A structured evidence package and written explanation
Legal position Reviews the contracting entity, relevant terms and applicable procedures A written position supporting your request
Complaint or appeal Sets out the facts, unresolved issues and requested resolution A prepared submission with supporting attachments
Communication support Prepares or supports correspondence within the agreed mandate Structured responses and follow-up guidance
Escalation assessment Reviews external procedures and any need for local counsel An escalation strategy and proposed further scope

A useful evidence file connects the origin of the funds, their acquisition or receipt, and their movement into the restricted account. Where records are incomplete, we identify the gap and assess what alternative evidence is available.

Which Matters Require a Different Service

  • Stolen crypto or scam transfers: recovery assessment, tracing and possible law-enforcement coordination.
  • Lost self-custody wallet access: a separate wallet access assessment.
  • Criminal proceedings, sanctions or an asset-freezing order: specialist advice on the underlying legal measure.
  • Tax reporting or business licensing alone: tax or regulatory advisory work.

If the platform itself may be fraudulent or insolvent, we assess that issue before treating the matter as an ordinary withdrawal complaint.

Platform Rules and Your Available Procedures

Identify the Restriction Before Choosing a Response

A platform may request identity, transaction or Source of Funds evidence during a compliance review. We examine the request and applicable rules to identify the documents needed for your case.

For example, Binance’s withdrawal reactivation guidance distinguishes temporary security suspensions from verification and account restrictions. It also explains that some restrictions involving law enforcement or regulatory obligations are not open to appeal.

Similarly, Coinbase’s account restrictions guidance separates trading restrictions, account closures and freezes required by court orders or sanctions obligations. These are platform-specific examples, not universal rules for all exchanges.

Formal Complaints and External Escalation

For crypto-asset service providers subject to Article 71 MiCA in the EU, complaints procedures must be effective and transparent, clients must be able to complain free of charge, and providers must communicate the outcome within a reasonable period.

P&P checks whether this framework applies to your provider and service. Your residence alone does not establish which entity holds the account or which complaint process applies.

A complaint does not automatically override a lawful restriction. External steps depend on the contracting entity, applicable law and the nature of the dispute; regulatory reporting and a court or arbitration claim can serve different purposes.

How Work with P&P Proceeds

01

Initial Case Assessment

P&P reviews the restriction and basic chronology. You provide the platform, country, approximate amount and latest notice. The output is a preliminary assessment and recommended next step.

02

Evidence Review

P&P checks the available correspondence and financial records. You provide transaction history and supporting documents. The output is an evidence map, a list of missing records and an agreed scope.

03

Preparation of the Position

P&P organises the facts, evidence and relevant arguments. You confirm the chronology and supply any additional records. The output is an explanation, evidence package, complaint or legal position.

04

Submission and Communication

P&P prepares or supports submission and follow-up correspondence. You complete account-holder checks and forward new requests. The output is a documented submission and structured responses.

05

Escalation Where Necessary

P&P assesses further complaint, regulator, local counsel or litigation options. You approve any additional legal step and scope. The output is an escalation strategy and the required documents.

Not every case needs every stage. The route depends on the restriction, platform, contracting entity, jurisdiction, evidence, amount and any involvement of banks or public authorities.

What We Need from You

For a Free Case Assessment

  • Country of residence and whether the account is personal or business.
  • Platform name and website address.
  • Approximate amount, assets affected and transaction type.
  • Short chronology and functions you cannot use.
  • Screenshot or latest platform message, plus any support reference.

You do not need a complete evidence file to request an initial assessment. The first review establishes whether the matter fits the service and what further information is needed.

For Full Legal Work

Document or information What it helps establish
Complete platform correspondence The requests made, responses submitted and unresolved questions
Exchange transaction history Acquisition, conversion, deposits and withdrawals
Transaction hashes and wallet records Relevant on-chain transfers and links between transactions
Bank statements The origin and movement of fiat payments
Contracts, invoices or P2P order records The economic purpose of receipts and counterparty relationships
Income and tax documents Documented earnings or accumulated wealth where relevant
KYC and corporate documents Account-holder details, authority and business ownership
Wallet ownership evidence Your connection to relevant addresses when supported by suitable records

We request documents according to their relevance. A transaction hash records a transfer but does not, by itself, establish who owns the funds or why the transfer occurred.

Security warning: P&P will never need your seed phrase, private key, exchange password, 2FA code or full remote access to your device.

Possible Results and Limitations

Possible outcomes include acceptance of evidence, a request for further documents, restored account functions or withdrawals, partial restoration, or account closure with a defined withdrawal route. The restriction may also remain in place and require further assessment or legal escalation.

The outcome depends on the reason for the restriction, quality and consistency of evidence, platform rules, jurisdiction, transaction history and any involvement of banks, regulators or law enforcement.

P&P cannot guarantee a particular outcome or exact timeframe.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know whether you can help with my case?

Send the platform name, country, approximate amount and latest restriction message. We assess the likely route and whether paid assistance is proportionate before proposing further work.

How long can the process take?

Preparation time depends on the amount of evidence and complexity of the transaction history. Platform reviews and external proceedings follow separate timelines, so we distinguish our preparation estimate from the time needed for a decision.

What if I do not have complete Source of Funds records?

We review the available evidence and identify whether other records can support an accurate explanation. Missing information must be addressed honestly, and some gaps may limit the strength of a submission.

Can you communicate with the exchange for me?

We can prepare submissions and support authorised correspondence where the platform’s procedure permits it. Identity verification, security confirmations and some account actions must still be completed by you.

Can you assist with platforms outside the EU?

We can assess non-EU matters and identify the relevant contractual and complaint procedures. If a further step requires locally authorised representation, we assess the need for local counsel before proceeding.

What happens if the platform has already rejected my documents?

We compare its request with your evidence and the reasons given for rejection. Depending on what remains unresolved, the next step may be a revised explanation, additional records, a formal complaint or another legal route.

How much does the service cost?

The fee depends on the document volume, transaction complexity and whether the work involves evidence preparation, correspondence or further escalation. After the free preliminary assessment, we provide a proposed scope and fee for approval before paid work begins.
